trailer length

hi don't know where to ask this question. to measure the length of a trailer do you go by the inside length or tongue to the end of the trailer? thanks for your help mike

Are you talking a pull behind trailer, utility trailer. If so measure from hitch to end of trailer.

i have a pull behind it is 14 ft inside and 16 ft from tongue to end

When flat trailers are sold most of them are measured from the tongue. But box trailers rated by how big the box is. Most of the time goose necks are measured by the length of the trailer surface. But there is always an exception.
