Windshield wipers - 92 GMC Yukon

The windshield wipers for my GMC Yukon are working irradically. First of all the washer does not work at all. When I operate the wipers during dry weather, they work well on all four settings (intermittant, low, high and off). However, during wet weather, and during the intermittant mode, the wipers will continously operate and then stop abruptly at mid-extension. Also, when I attempt to shut them off, they continue operating and then stop abruptly at mid-extension. Is this something that I can easily repair myself. Please advise.

Appears to be the wiper switch since you have problems with wiper and washer both. If this veh is equip'd with a wiper circuit board, that could also be the problem weak solder joint where the electrical plug is attached. Later models had the board problem.

The wiper switch is in the column and is a bear to do without the right tools---leave that to a professional.

I agree with Darrell.
