Eclips throw-out berring

My son has a '95 eclipse with a 2.0 l. engine and 5 speed tranny. The throw-out berring sounds like it needs replacing (squeels when cold). My question is, do I have to pull the engine out to change it? Thanks for the help RCG

It would be changed when the clutch disc and pressure plate are done. The tranny likely has to come out, not the engine .

I suggest unless you have access to air tools and a lift, you leave this to a professional. The cost is well worth the lack of frustration.

Doing a clutch on your back is a dirty, nasty, tough and long job
