cooling system

97 Chevy, Monte Carlo, 3.1 v6 The gauge shows overheating, checked all the relays and the fans work with the a/c on and by direct current. I'm now looking for the temperature coolant sensor, which in my Haynes manual shows to be near the top radiator hose and has a yellow and black wire connected to it. For the life of me I can't find this. Can someone tell me where it may be and if there are different color wires than the black and yellow. Thanks

Hit any GM dealer's parts counter and they will give you a print out. You'll find it in two seconds that way .

up where the upper radiator hose connects to the motor, follow past the hose towards the passenger side and you should see it, its burried pretty good.
