1998 Buick century Limited

90,000 miles - V6

I just bought this car and have a question.

The transmission 'slips.'
When I put the car in Drive and hit the accelerator pedal, sometimes the car won't go for a moment. The car feels like it is in neutral(rpms go up when I hit accelerator pedal) and then the trans will 'catch' and the car lurches forward. I checked the transmission fluid and it seems to be full.
Any ideas about the cause/fix?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the tranny is probably wasted .

What's the condition of the fluid? When was the last time it was changed?

90k on a 1998 vehicle is WAY too many miles.

Possibly, but you'd have to have it checked out professionally.
