Flashing "Check Engine", Rotten egg smell and hesitation

The flashing check engine happens for about 20 mins when starting up in the morn. The rotten egg smell is non consistent, and the hesitation is often and it feels like a misfire or not enuff gas is gettin thru

1999 Subaru outback, 61k miles.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks
Joe

Sounds like a clogged catalytic converter.

Could be a number of things. Time to get it to the shop where they can hook up the scanner and see why the engine light is on.

Makes sense, as what you describe is a misfire condition.

Holiday weekend, part is ordered Monday, comes in Tuesday .
