Break in period on new cars.

If all goes well, we will getting a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon. Can someone offer their opinion about this article with regard to the break in period?

The owner's manual has good tips on how to drive it for the first few thousand miles. Stick to 3 month/3000 mile oil changes and stick with the maintenance schedule in the owner's book and you should be OK.

I'm not a big fan of Subaru products. They have always been strange and lackluster in quality, performance, styling, resale value and durability. I'm not convinced they've licked past problems.

If I had to buy a Japanese vehicle, for me it would have a Toyota badge on it.

I am from the "old" school. Read owners manual, watch oil change/filter intervals and last but not least use common sense. Breakin apply's to other components beside the engine.
