Question Trunk Light Wiring For 94 Toyota Corolla

Hi folks!
Maybe Joe, or someone else, can help me here. My father left me a 1994 Toyota Corolla. The real barebones one, he didn't like gadgets! Well, there is no trunk light and trying to find things in the trunk at night is really a finger piercer! LOL! I would like to install a trunk light in there. I do have a older Volvo with two and would move one ( or both) to the Toyota. I know that there has to be preinstalled wiring in there somewhere, as the books refer to trunk lights in some models of Toyotas but can't seem to locate them. I do not want to rip out all the trunk lining looking/fishing for them, without a start point. Does anyone know where the wires would be? I have found the prewired speaker wires under the rear deck but no electrical wires.

It's possible that model didn't come with one at all.Just find a 12 volt power source that's always hot and wire it in.Preferably with a fuse in line.

I agree with Davo. Another idea is to simply find a wiped out Corolla in the junkyard (say 1993 to 1997 vintage as they are basically the same) and take all the needed parts from there. In turn, you'll see where it all goes.

I guess that's what the "CE" means on the back of some of those vintage Corollas I see: Cheap Edition

I actually think it stands for Classic Edition, but it's funnier this way. LOL.
