Oh yay
. 1976 Black Special Edition 50th Anniversary.
VERY rare if it's a 455 with a 4 speed and T-tops. There are only 110 of them. They are quite desirable.
That is an official GM special edition, and started the whole SE craze. I will add one to my collection down the road.
If it's a true Black SE, it will have a Y code on the cowl tag by the left windshield where the tag says "Body by Fisher". Also, the build sheet and Pontiac Historical Service paperwork will indicate it.
Which engine and tranny? T-tops?

Will have to get a better look at it. The claimed story according to my partner who towed it back (from about 125 miles away) is that there were only 110 made and less than 10 still known to exist. The bad news is that it is in pretty bad shape. Story is that the owner (a garage owner) sold it several years ago and the check he took for it turned out to be forged or some such. It's been missing ever since and I guess somebody got busted when it was pulled over for a traffic ticket or else was found abandoned; didn't hear that part of the outcome. Needless to say, it doesn't look near as good as Joe Cool's.
