Removing ignition cylinder

Removing ignition cylinder

I am trying in vain to remove the ignition cylinder from the steering column ... I have a 88' Jeep Cherokee 4.0 automatic transmission. Can you help please???

This should be set up like a GM sterring column.. You'll need to remove the horn pad, steering wheel, locking plate, and turn signal switch(3 screws hold the plastic switch in place, gently lift it aside, don't completely remove from steering column.) There should be a lock screw that can be removed to then remove the tumbler assy. from the column...
