Help! My truck got splattered by paint!

Someone lost a few gallons of white latex paint on the interstate
and wouldn't you know it I got a healthy dose of it sprayed and splattered on my black truck by the semi in front of me. It's everywhere - the tires, the plastic overfenders, the body.

How can I remove the paint without destroying the finish on the truck? A car wash didn't help. The truck is less than 3 months

I have heard, Goof-off works. Never used it. Think I would have had a police report made out, contact ins co. Let body shop handle it. Then you might ask a body shop if there is a quick fix for this paint removal. Do know one thing, dont get the stripe paint the D.O.T hwy maint. uses-- on your car.

We've used Easy Off oven cleaner before to remove custom striping and painted on signage on vehicles.

Just be sure to use it in an inconspicuous spot first.

Mattison:

Eeeeek! I know EZ off will strip paint off of wheels (I know people that have done it), so I'd stick with 3M product designed for this purpose.

I'd still say the original poster go through insurance or the law for remedy .

easy off

is pretty much full strength sodium hydroxide. It'll have an EASY time taking ALL your paint OFF.

Maybe we just got lucky but used it several times.

If a driver quit we took his name off the door with it, or if we sold one we removed company logo's and phone numbers. Never had a problem and buffed out fine.
