automatic tranny shifting hard

i have a 2000 Montana, in heavy stop in go traffic after about an hour into our drive the automatic transmision started to shift very hard, almost like you are going over a bump in the road. I pulled into a service station to check to see if i could see anything and checked the tranny fluid level which was perfectly right up. This stop lasted maybe 5 minutes, when i pulled back on the road it shifted perfectly all the way home which is another 2.5 hours. Any suggestions or recomendations??

You may have a pressure control solenoid valve going bad or torque regulator valve in the control valve body sticking.Trans repair other than fluid change is not DIY.You may have had a small piece of debris go through the valve body and exhaust itself into the pan.I wouldn't be concerned unless it continues.
