Brake lights....not!....

1995 Ford Explorer, 6 cyl, 4wd, 170000 miles. my brake lights do not come on. The brakes work well, and no fuses blown. I haven't checked the bulbs yet, but what are the chances that all three bulbs walked off the job at the same time. The brake switch that is attached to the brake pedal seems to be OK, and if it is very quiet, you can climb under the dash, press the brakes with you hand, and you hear a click from the other side of the dash area. Can you steer me in the right direction?

The switch could click and still be bad. I'd say bad stoplight switch if all bulbs and wiring checks out.

is the "stoplight switch the one that the brake pedal engages?

That was the quickest repair ever. Total time about 2 minutes, total cost about $10. If I had taken it to a shop, probably would have cost a minimum of $35. Thank you for your help.

Mimimum of 60 for an hour's labor, that's for sure .

Good job, glad you got it fixed.
