Jeep a/c temprature range

This is a general question about auto A/C.
When I check the temprature of the air coming out of the vents how cold should it be? I have a jeep that was just serviced and the temprature is 60 degrees. I have an old Chrysler LeBaron Convertible that is 10 years and never had a/c service and it is 50 degrees.

thanks
Steven

does not sound cool enough. I would have it checked by a qualified A/C person. May need refrigerant.

I agree. However, what refrigerant is in both vehicles?

R12 will be colder than R134A in most cases. Depends on the vehicle and system.

How are you checking the temperature? The in car thermometer is not really good enough.

What year is the jeep? Older (mid 80's) had problems with the doors and duct work in the dash... Even with a full charge of freon, they wouldn't get cold until repairs were made..The newer ones seem to have better designed doors and ducts, so should be colder..

Thanks for all the replys. I have checked the temprature with a refrigeration therometer. The kind you stick in the dash.
I talked with the repair shop and they said to bring it back.
thanks again
