Manual Transmission, Honda Prelude

I have one other question guys:
You guys (especially Joe) really seem to know your stuff, and I have a friend that seems to think I know something about cars (I know enough to read a manual and follow directions). He has a Honda Prelude, and he's having a transmission problem I found to be rather odd... It will not go into reverse, he said it's just like the gear isn't even there. Rolling or stopped it won't go. He said it doesn't grind, so that tends to rule out the synchronizer in my mind... do you guys have any idea?

Thanks!

Mileage? When was the last time the fluid was changed?

It probably has internal failure, rebuild time .

That's about what I figured, but he claims it's a new transmission.. I'm guessing he bought a "new" transmission that was really a shoddy rebuild...

If it was rebuilt already, go back to the source and make them aware of the problem. They cannot rectify what they do not know about .
