Auto clear coat

I recently purchased a 1995 Mercury Sable in excellent condition. There are several places where the clear coat has bubbled. What, if anything, can I do to keep these bubbles from getting larger and eventually cracking and peeling?

The only real solution is to have the affected panels repainted.

The paint on '95 older Fords leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you live in the south or southwest.

I hope your Sable has the 3.0L engine. The 3.8s eat headgaskets, especially the '94-95 models.

I agree with Knuckles. The paint companies blame it on the car companies and vice versa. LOL.

If it's a 3.8, pitch it now while your ahead. Not only will a head gasket repair soak you (especially if Ford doesn't assist you when (not if) you have the problem). Also, the transmissions in these 1st gen (86-95) Taurus and Sables are prone to puking out quick too.

I would only take one of these if someone gave it to me. Even $1000 is too high for one of these in my belief .
