Ram headlights shut off

Hi,

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I just noticed that when the steering column is lowered to the bottom couple positions, the headlights will shut off.... the fog lamps still work, and I can switch to high beams, but the normal lights won't work. Anyone heard of this before? I checked for recalls or TSBs on this and didn't see any.... guess I'm gunna get to foot the bill for this repair

Any thoughts are appreciated,

Scott

Sounds like a pinched wire. Inspect them carefully under the column.

If nothing obvious is amiss, yes, time for professional repair. The airbag is involved for repair and requires professional service to do right.

Thank you Joe for the response. It's up at the shop now... have a Jetta to drive in the meantime. Kinda fun going from a truck to a little sporty car

Thanks,

Scott
