how to replacing globe for gearbox?

I have a 1993 Toyota Camry automatic and I need to replace the globe that light ups the gear box. Trouble is I can not see anyway of getting at it.

need clarification

Are you talking about the light bulb for the shift indicator?

If so, check the autolibrary.org website at the link below.

I am not sure! Is the shaft indicator what shows you if you are in "P", or "R", or"N", or "D", ...etc? If it is then yes that is the globe I need to replace. I have also checked that link but are not sure what section I will find the info I need. If you can help some more it would be greatly appreciated.

On further investigation of that link it looks like I have to remove the Console Upper Panel and then the Front Console Box. My problem now is that I can not see how to remove the Upper panel?

If autolibrary doesn't have what you need, hit the local Toyota dealer and ask for an exploded view from the parts computer of the console.

In turn, you'll see how it comes apart.
