95 mercury villager fuel relay switch

Unhappy 95 mercury villager fuel relay switch

I put in a new fuel pump, but there is no sound or action, I was told to check the fuel relay switch......how?

By obtaining a wiring diagram through Autolibrary.org below, Alldata.com ($25.00) or a Ford factory manual.

Follow the diagnostic procedures in each. The fuel pump may not have been the problem, always check parts before pitching them first!

Sounds like what they MIGHT have been saying is, "Check the inertia switch and the fuel pump relay"...
Inertia switch on a mini van is usually behind 1 of the kick panels,
and the fuel pump relay is in the main fuse box under the hood..
Either 1 of these can kill voltage to the fuel pump..
As for actually testing them, follow Joe's advice and get a decent manual..It should also give component locations...
