electrical problem

I have a 93 Tempo with an electrial problem. Automatic and 4 cylinders.
Headlights and all electrical works until I turn key to start position. The moment the key hits start there is a click from motor compartment and I loose ALL electrical to car. Wait for a while and I can go through the whole procedure.
Any ideas
Thanks, Ed

Have you checked all the connections to the starter relay? What's the general condition of the battery and starting
system?

Start with the connections at your battery. Once they're nice and clean if the problem still persists get your battery and alternator tested.
