Fuel tank

I have a 1994 Chevy 1500 pickup 1/2 ton
I need to drop the tank to put new fuel lines on it , the old ones are rusted and leaking. What I would like to know is what to expect when I start to drop the tank , will it come down enough to see the sending unit ,or do I have to disconnect it from the fuel filter so the fuel lines will move with the tank ? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Cid

Drop the tank completely so you can get at everything easily.

Replace the straps and hardware with OEM dealer parts if they are rotten or wasted.
