cruise control 1998 Jetta

I'm having some problems with the cruise as it seems to cut off and sometimes kick in when it wants to. All I want to do is just disconnect it since it's my kids car and I really don't want her to use it anyway. Can I just pull a fuse or are we talking something else?

More than likely the computer controls this one. Pulling a fuse might disable something else---not good.

Suggest bringing it into the shop to have a look. Check alldata.com for any known bulletins on this problem/issue.
