What sort of tools do you have available to you? How much experience do you have mechanically?
It can be done with hand tools, but will take quite a bit longer than with air. Metric sockets and wrenches, jack, jack stands, chocks/blocks all a must. Probably the most difficult part if doing this be hand will be removing the drive axle nuts. ( both axles have to be removed) The nuts should be either 30mm or 32mm and are TIGHT.

I agree with MsArgent. If you do not have the tools or experience doing one of these, it's a bit daunting. You may even do it twice which would make the cost of having it done for you that much more attractive .
