EGR Questions

My truck is a 97' F150 4.2L V6 with 107,000 miles. It has been hesitating under acceleration and runs rough. I did some looking and apparently the DPFE Sensor is a common problem. So I whip out the Haynes manual (yes I know, I should get the Helms) and start troubleshooting. The EVR checks out fine, voltage and resistance wise. The DPFE sense is reading the correct VRef but the book says that when the engine is cold, the signal voltage should between .2 and .6 volts. And when the engine warms it should go between 4 and 6 volts. Question is, is the signal voltage coming from the sensor or is it being sent to the sensor from something else?

Almost forgot! The voltage doesn't change once the engine warms, it stays at about .22 volts. Bad DPFE Sensor?

If the sensor fails the specs or checks in your manual and autolibrary.org below, it's bad.
