Dodge Caravan timing belt

Dodge caravan with 3.0L engine
When should I change the timing belt on these cars? The maintance schedule says Inspect it(And replace when required) for every 30K miles or so.

This is the model that I have to take out the right side of engine mount for the timing belt change job. I don't want to do this job unless I have to.

thanks in advance

Every 60k or so I'd replace it. I'd do the water pump at the same time to avoid double labor.

I agree...as Joe said...replace the water pump. Do not do this job without replacing the water pump, and did I mention the water pump?...hehe. The reason I say this is because the water pump is driven by the timing belt. It is easy enough to change while you're already in there, and if it were to go bad a week after changing the belt, it could ruin the belt. Not to mention you have to pull all that junk off the engine again.
