Auto Transmission

98 Ford Windstar 3.8L - 104,000 miles

I had the trans fluid changed once at 70,000 miles. A couple of weeks ago the van was bucking when slowing down or speeding up like it was having problems switching gears. I took it to the dealer had the trans flushed ran beautiful for two weeks. Now when the trans goes to second there is a hesitation you hear the engine revving before it finally switches. Do you think the trans is shot or this is something minor that can be repaired? Also should I take it to the local trans shop or back to the dealer?

Many Fords have a torque converter drain. It is probable the old and new fluid are mixed.

Change the tranny fluid and filter every 25k on the dot every time, no later.

Also, these trannies are known problem units, good possibility of internal failure too at this mileage.
