batteries

Bought a new battery for my vehicle the other day and put it in . bought it from Advance and it is not a maintenance free one. you can pop the caps off the top and fill it with water. I've have usually only had maint. free ones so i was just wondering how often you have to fill the cells with water. it is an Autocraft silver battery by the way. thanks

Return it and get a maintenance free one. Those type batteries are a PITA. I'd check the fluid level once a month, more often in hotter conditions.

I usually just check mine when I change the oil. Remember if you add water to it be sure its purified water.

I'm with Joe on this one. Maint free bat's sure eleminated the battery shelf replacement on cars and trucks. Plus the nasty corrosion.
