turn signals vs. hazard lights

new member and first posting.
i have a 2002 chevy malibu ls. this problem is intermittent and so it doesn't matter if it's hot, cold, sunny, or raining. sometimes when making a turn, the indicator lights won't go on, if i give the hazard button a light push, the turn signal will work. sometimes i have to do this more than once before the turn signal light works. again it's a light push, i don't have to fully engage the hazard switch. also, when i do this, the hazard switch will click rapidly three or four times.
i've checked all the fuses, which is about the limit of my knowledge of electrical components.
thanks.

Sounds like your multi-function switch. If the vehicle is still under factory warranty I would recommend getting it to a GM dealer ASAP.

Agreed. Dealer's problem, not yours.
