ball joints

I was told recently that my 1994 Mazda B-4000 could not be alligned because the upper right ball joint had to be replaced. Is it necessary to change upper and lower? Or advisable to change all the ball joints both sides?

If you have got it appart, change them both. I also find it easier to do both sides when I am doing the job. Once you have done one side, the other goes much faster and you only make a mess once if you are doing it yourself.

If you intend to keep the car, myself I would spend the xtra $ and just do all 4. Other choice would be change both upper joints.
I feel, depending on the miles, if one is bad the others are probably not far behind.

Agree. Throw all four out and replace them with new.
