Most parts stores offer replacement antennas for just about every make and model..refresh my memory of where it's supposed to be located? Fender, roof?

As MSA said. I believe it's on the driver's pillar/roof area on that era Civic.

antenna problem

The antenna is on the driver side "frame part" of the roof.I already have the antenna but the problem is how to install it.The previous owner just pulled the antenna cord so its almost impossible for me to thread it from the roof , thru the side frame into the stereo. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR GIVING THIS YOUR ATTENTION.

You may wish to hit the dealer for an exploded view of the antenna and routing. You may need to take some interior trim out to see where it goes.
