MY 91 CIVIC HAS BEEN IDLING VERY INCOSISTANTLY.UP AND DOWN. I TRIED ADJUSTING IT BUT HASN'T HELPED. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS. THANKS

Because adjusting it will do zero for the problem. The idle is computer controlled. Do not fool with the screw.

You either have dirt in the throttle body, a bad idle air control valve, or a vacuum leak.
