battery warning light stays on after I put new battery in the car 1990 olds
I have a 1990 olds car and when I put the new battery in the battery warning light will not go off do I have a short somewhere.
because the car sounds like it needs more battery power. And where do I look for a short.

at the battery terminals with and without the car running? You
might have something as simple as a bad alternator. Those
new style GM alternators aren't well put together and they
have issues with high heat. I went through a couple in Florida,
and there was nothing my rebuilder could do except redo
the work.

Please don't forget to check fuses and fusable links.. Also make sure the battery is fully charged when replacing an alternator..A weak battery has killed many a new alternator..
