Loss of power to battery

I have a 91 Mercury Marquis Sedan. After replacing the power steering fluid hose, the lights on the car began to dim. The local auto parts store hooked up a device to check battery strength and alternator output. It showed no power going to the battery. We replaced the alternator and it still shows no power going to the battery. Where do I go next?

I would look near the hose area to see if some wire connection got unplugged. Then get a wiring diagram and check fusible links.
