Unhappy Water Damage

Hey All,
We had a weekend up north over the fourth and had a buddy with a 1999 checy S10 two bone stock no pwer locks or anything go through some big puddles. He came back out fine but when he went to start it the next day, his dome lights did not work, the security light was on and the warning buzzer for the headlights was making a weird noise AND the truck will not start. Its doing the typical security waring start up, it will start and stall after a few seconds. We have let it dry out for a coupke days now but it still has the same symtoms. No fuses are blown. I think because its bone stock, it doesn't have a ody control module just a ECM. Any suggestions on where to start?
So far, we have pulled the ECM connectors and the under hood fuse box to search for moisture but nothing was found.

How deep were these puddles you're talking about? If they were higher than the base of the doors, good chance you've soaked something electrical .

Does it have spark and fuel????

It has spark and fuel. Its the security feature thats killing the fuel after a few seconds. The security light is on all the time. the puddles were only a couple inches deep but he was going at least 10-15 MPH through them

The under side of the hood was soaked though.

What engine size? You may have soaked the MAF if so equipped.

You think it could be the MAF even though the security light is solid and the weird half buzz noise from the interior buzzer? Also, just to add more, the interior did not get wet.
