when to service transmission....

1996 Nissan Sentra automatic 72,500 miles.

I've been taking my car for the scheduled maintenance to the dealer.

But recently a friend of mine tell me that certain things like transmission servicing, tune up etc are not covered in scheduled maintenance. Is this true?

If so please tell me what is the appropriate mileage interval for transmission servicing and tune ups.

Thanks

Transmission fluid and filter (if equipped) every 25,000 miles on the dot, every time, all the time.

Tuneups: Yearly for filters, spark plugs every 30k or so. The maintenance schedule in the owner's guide covers all of these operations and when they should be done.
