oil sending unit

Have '91 Gr. Marquis. Auto,125K. After driving 3-4 miles the oil light comes on when stopped and idling at traffic light. Goes off as soon as I accelerate. Oil level is full, no tapping from motor. Thought about oil sending unit but ( I'm sorry) I cant locate it. Can you give me a hint. 5L 8 cyl. Next would be to check oil pump. How can this be done ???
Thanx for your time

most ford 5.0L that i saw have the sender right next to the oil filter, front left(driver's side) of engine block, might be easier to see from underneath, if a new sender doesn't fix it, you might try a thicker oil for now....

The oil pickup screen may be clogged....very common on Ford V8's.

5.8 engines in these vintages USUALLY mean we are talking about an ex-police car or taxi cab .

However, as noted, check the oil pressure with hand held gauge and also try changing the sender.
