ranger charging problem, intermnt. chg.

97 ranger 4 holer ....batt warning lite comes on, charging is ok ..14.5 v, dash voltmeter reads ok ... batt lite goes out, no charge, 12+ v ...... in troubleshooting this i replaced the alternator, 'cause the bearings were wasted, still same prob .. alt conn has 3 wires .. yellow, is excitation voltage, @batt level ...white w/ black tracer ?? & green ?? ... one probably goes to the dash volt meter ? .. anyways, it seems there is an intermittent connection.. where to look ?? ...........additionally, i just noticed KOEO, the batt lite don't come on ..........anybody a form mechanic here ??? i cant find my shop manual, and this computer won't acess my FMC cd's ! lost without a wiring diagram, aren't i !
