My son-in-law was hooking up the battery in his 1988 F-150 and he reversed the cables and now we have nothing when we turn the key we have replaced the starter relay and the ignition switch also we checked the fusible links that attach to the relay we also checked the battery voltage and it was 11.5 volts we need to know what else we should check or replace?

At minimum, you've likely wasted the alternator and any fusible links in line that protect the wiring.

Check the harness side of the fuse links (all of them) with a test light. Make sure you have power to each wire.

Let us know what you find.
