2002 VW Jetta Braking

My Jetta brakes sometimes with a jerking action, usually when slowing down for a stop. Its like the car studders sometimes when I brake. Both the driver and passenger can feel the car doing it. I wonder if its the transmission or a brake problem. Thanks.

It could be warped brake rotors, does the pedal pulsate under your foot?

Either that, or the brakes are sticking and locking up/not releasing.

My vote: 2002 vehicle. Covered by the factory warranty. Let VW handle it for you at no charge. Their problem, not yours.
