What type of extractors are you trying to use?
Most common are E-Z outs which look like a tapered square. For these, drill a hole in whats left of your bolt (large enough for the E-Z out to fit in). Tap in the tool with a hammer hard enough for it to bite into the bolt. Use a wrench to remove bolt with the tool.
I've found I've had good luck drilling with a left handed drill bit on a reversible drill.
