Paint code

I found a web site that shows me where my paint code is listed in my 97 Olds Cutlass. When I went to look in my car, I found about 20 different sets of numbers. None of them marked so I don't know what one is the paint code. Do I really NEED that number? My car is white.

Also once I sand and paint the rust spots I know the paint will be a dull finish. If I just wax the car will that give a shine to the touch up paint?

There are about 8,000 diffrent shades of white, if you want a match, you should have the number. Your local GM dealer should be able to help you with the number.

At the bottom of that SPID label (Service Parts Identification Label) is a "WA" Fisher number. This is the paint code. It it usually WA and four digits.

Take that with you, along with the year and make/model and the books should refer you to the right paint match.
