Brake light

1990 chev corsica 3.1
The left brake light will not come on, new bulbs, ground checked, sockets checked. The right side works fine. Also worth mentioning the flashers also did not work on the left. I spliced a wire in the front and got the flashers working but still no left brake light. I tried splicing into the third brake light it did work but it made my turn signals very dim. There just does not seem to be any power in the left side wire. Does the brake signal switch have two separate sides? Could that be the problem?

Try this:

Locate the turn signal switch electrical connector. Turn the left signal on & check for power (remember, your test light should flash just like a turn signal) to the yellow wire.

Let us know what happens.

I agree. Some of those GM's suffer from connector corrosion at the base of the wiring harness/steering column.
