Trailer hitch

There is no trailer hitch already on my 97 Olds Cutlass. Can I put one on easily?

Many involve welding (not all), so in that case, no.

If they bolt on, then yes, drilling required.

I wouldn't tow a dinghy with a 1997 Cutlass. No heavy duty cooling system, no heavy duty brakes or towing package (although you can buy premade wiring kits through any parts store that stocks trailer connectors). Job for a truck IMO.

That's what I thought. I wanted to tow a small trailer to put some photographic equiptment in and travel with it. I am better off buying some equipment that would fold up small enough to go in the trunk.

You can also put in a trailer hitch and get a hitch carrier. You can get a small carrier, preferably made of aluminum, because of weight. They make these open or closed. If you do this make sure the rear suspension is in good shape and your lights are properly aligned.
