1990-1991 Chev. Lamont Ignition
#1

I am trying to find out some information on a Pontiac LeMans (1990 or 1991). I am needing to know how to take the ignition switch out, it's locked in there somehow. My dad is working on it for my brother-in-law and when my brother-in-law messed with it, he apparently locked it up. So if anyone can help me with this or has any other automotive information about the LeMans. Please let me know.
Thank you, Karen

I have never heard of this vehicle. Post the VIN # and describe it.
You could be talking about a P Series truck with a box body or some other body company's body on a GM/Chevy chassis.
The ignition switch doesn't come apart. If it's jammed, throw it out and replace it with a new one.

That's a dud that GM rebadged from Daewoo. They are really terrible
.
The electrical part of the ignition switch is behind the mechanical key portion.
You'll have to take the wheel off to access it, or if the steering column comes apart in two halves, drop the lower half's shroud to access the switch.
You're likely to find a jammed lock---but make sure the vehicle is in park---if it's not (play with the shifter), the key will get stuck.
Lamont was the son of Sanford on Sanford and son
