i never worked on a mazda, but every car i've ever seen has a huge spring that can seriously hurt you and the car.
better to read up on the procedure before it's too late.

I agree and Autozone should be able to rent you one free of charge.
Make sure to change the strut mounts when you do the job (they are often wasted), and have the car aligned at once after the job is done.
Check autolibrary below for the R&R procedure.
