Olds transmission

My turn to ask I guess, grandson's 94 olds cutlass, 3.1 A/T. 100,000 Mi, and has had trans oil changed 2 maybe 3 times in the miles stated. Bought from an individual. Any ideas why when veh is in park, if you race the engine it sounds like the converter is either engaging or trying to engage? Trans shop said some of these had problems like that? I have never ran into this before, but then I have lost out on a lot of modern tech anymore. Thanks fellas.

Have you tried to hook a scan tool on it and check converter lock up?

Also, anything in Alldata.com as far as bulletins? (My guess is you will find some)
