water throwing away through reservoir

Hi everyone,

When the engine gets hot (10 to 20 minutes running), the radiator throws away, through the reservoir, all the coolant and engine will overheat after. Do i have to check the thermostat or something else?
Nissan Sentra Classic, 1,6 l, 4 doors, 4 cylinders, 1993.

Thanks in advance for help.

the fan should be on long before this happens

could be a stuck thermostat, could be a cracked cylinder head or blown head gasket by now, cars with aluminum heads don't like to be overheated too long.

does the fan come on with the a/c on?

The fan comes on from time to time. When it is on, quantity of throwing water decreases, when fan off, water increases.

check the cap. The wrong psi rated cap will cause this problem.

Overheating can severely damage an engine. My suggestion is to take it to a pro if at least for diagnosis. The radiator may be clogged as well as a lot of other causes people have voiced.Make sure the place you take it can test for combustion gases in the cooling system.
