99 cavalier headlight problem
#1

I have a 99 cavalier 2.2L. The headlight assembly on the passenger side of the car is very dim. There is two bulbs in the assembly. These two bulbs are for the daytime lamps, high beam and low beam. Anyway, The lights will come on, but they are very dim. Also, if you take one of the bulbs out the other will not light at all. This is not the case with the side that is working. I Checked the connections, they were all good. I was thinking it was just a ground, so I exposed some wire on the ground of the light and grounded it straight to the battery. No good. the light got a little brighter but not like it should. I am going to get a wiring diagram form a dealer, but was wondering if you had an idea?
thanks

your thinking it was a ground is on the right track. It could be the terminal the lightbulb plugs into.
Or it could be the power side with a broken wire, not all the way through. But thats unlikely since it would try to push all the amps through a lesser guage wire which would burn out causing an open curcuit. And if it was a short on the power side it would be blowing fuses.
Take one of the bulbs out, and with a multimeter measure the resistance from the ground terminal on the battery to the ground terminal of the socket, it shouldn't be very high, if it is replace the terminal
