Question 1990 Volvo 740

My 1990 Volvo 740 with 200K miles speedometer has quit. I removed the instrment cluster and checked all conections. I also removed the sending unit from the rear, cleaned the connections and the unit but no joy. Suggestions?

Did you check the cluster for any damage on the circuit? Could have a bad speedo head.

I looked it over real well and did not see any broken threads. Do you know how to test the pickup in the rear? What should the resistance be at room temp. Maybe that would give me a clue as to which component to go after first. Thanks for the reply.

Check fuses?

Have check all the fuses?

Spedo is not one of component that goes out easy for these cars. Check the fuses & all connections first. Spedo converter has it's own fuse, located left-side under dash. It is known to blow out time to time when the car is improperly jumped.
