Thumbs down starting trouble

I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 4x4 2.9 v-6 engine. The trouble that I am having is sometimes it won't start. I turn the ignition and all that happens is I get radio all engine lights but no cranking not even a click. I have to jump the seliniod to get it to start. I thought that was the problem so I replaced it. It worked fine for about 2 days now it has started to do it again I am getting really frustrated with it. Any advice would be greatly apperiatied.

I would take a look at the ignition switch it operates the solenoid.

That, and cables in poor condition are notorious trouble spots on Fords.

Piss poor design.

I checked all conections and cleaned them up already sorry I forgot to mention that. It did it again just alittle while ago and all I did was take it out of Park and slammed it back into park and it started.

Check your linkage and neutral safety switch.
